Bob Hick Earthmoving Ltd. is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for it’s Employee’s, contractors, visitors and all persons using the premises or construction sites as a work place. Every person who works for Bob Hick Earthmoving, or sub-contracts to Bob Hick Earthmoving is responsible for ensuring that Health & Safety is managed in all areas of the Company. It is our belief that providing a healthy and safe working environment stimulates and supports people to achieve outcomes in a safe manner, which in turn contributes to operational effectiveness and business sustainability. Bob Hick Earthmoving is committed to meeting its obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (plus amendments), the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995, Codes of Practices and any relevant Standards or Guidelines.

We are committed to providing a work environment and establishing work practices which minimise any potential risk of injury or disease for all employees, visitors and contractors.We are committed to maintaining a high standard of health and safety performance while aspiring towards continual improvement. In seeking to eliminate injury, illness and dangerous incidents in the workplace we:

  • Hold all managers accountable for their health and safety performance within their delegated level of responsibility and against established performance objectives and targets.
  • Place on employees a duty of care to work in a safe manner, to report health and safety incidents and to correctly follow safe systems of work.
  • Meet all legal obligations as a minimum, and / or complying with other documents such as Approved Codes of Practice and Advisory Standards where the law requires it, or when a specific law is not available.
  • Regularly communicate and consult with staff at all levels, and where necessary with contractors and suppliers of equipment and services, to ensure occupational health and safety standards are maintained to the highest practicable level.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all workplace incidents and injuries in a timely manner to supervisors and relevant safety appointments within the organisation.
  • Provide relevant safety training for specific trade groups and safety management appointments including annual safety awareness and induction training for all employees.
  • Ensure effective safety committees and communication mechanisms are maintained and operating effectively.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by assessing and effectively managing the risks which arise from our activities, products and services through the application of effective risk management strategies and practices.
  • Ensure procedures and mechanisms are in place to support the safe and early return of injured employees.
  • Support and promote a strong safety culture through encouraging active participation and ownership in the Bob Hick Earthmoving Limited Safety Management System.
